During the London Olympics, as part of the Government’s paramount objective to deliver a safe and secure Games, the Ministry of Defence will be ready to respond to any unauthorised infringement of the R112 Restricted Zone and P111 Prohibited Zone airspace. This will include the interception of aircraft by military fast jets and helicopters.This leaflet details the actions that the military intercept aircraft will take and how pilots should react. It’s important to note that these intercept procedures will differ from those normally used for the interception of Civil Aircraft.
